Johansson & Partners Trademark Protection also actively monitors the media. We don’t just monitor the mainstream media outlets that Google indexes as news; we also keep an eye on smaller, local news sites. Many of them are more or less hidden link farms that mainly publish articles they are paid to publish, with various links in them.
Because this is a common source of trademark infringement – and a way for a competitor to use a registered trademark name to drive potential clients to their own site – we actively monitor this type of news site.
Other sites that look like news outlets can be blogs and other industry-specific sites. We keep an eye on them too!
